Late Mr.Hamid Ali Shah, Advocate joined Bar and started practicing as a lawyer in the year 1948. With his devotion and commitment for work, soon he established himself as a good lawyer. He was a very humble person. His heart was full of support for needy. India had recently gained independence, country was struggling with resources and masses were facing financial crunch. He gave maximum support to needy. He used to leave his fees for poor litigants. As a good lawyer he always protected his clients. He always believed that being a lawyer is not just a profession it is a mode of winning public trust and each lawyer has an obligation to give back to our society. When his younger brother Late Mr. Justice Mazhar Ali Shah joined his office he passed the responsibilities to his brother and rejoined active politics and served state of Madhya Pradesh (then Madhya Bharat) as Minister.
Succeeding office from his mentor and elder brother, Late Mr.Justice Mazhar Ali Shah, took the office on new heights. He was a very kind hearted person. He soon established himself as a good lawyer. He acquired a special place in society for his pro-bono works. Lawyers are the soldiers of Constitution. It is the dream of every lawyer to help shape the law and not merely to practice it. This thought was always reflected in the work of Late Mr.Justice Mazhar Ali Shah. Before his elevation to bench in the year 1984, he worked as Government Advocate for State of Madhya Pradesh. He was also Standing Counsel for Municipal Corporation. He also worked as Director of Haj Committee of India and Member in the Wakf Board. Judgments delivered by him are frequently cited.
One of the strong pillar of the grand old law office is Mr.Justice Wajahat Ali Shah. He is son of Late Shri Hamid Ali Shah, Advocate and founder of the law office. Soon after completing degree of Law he started practicing as a lawyer under his uncle Late Mr.Justice Mazhar Ali Shah, after practicing for some time as a lawyer he was selected as Civil Judge and after serving lower judiciary he was elevated as Judge of High Court of Madhya Pradesh in the year 2005. Abraham Lincoln has said “The leading rule for the lawyer, as for the man of every calling, is diligence.” This golden rule is followed by him.
Lawyers are operators of toll bridges which anyone in search of justice must pass. Society is incomplete without a lawyer. Lawyers are healers of society. The grand old law office is now run by Mr.Faisal Ali Shah, Advocate. He started practicing as an advocate in the year 1996. His expertise include Criminal, Constitution and Civil Matters. According to James Belushi "In the old days, you would have one lawyer to handle everything: speeding tickets, buying a house, contracts, litigation, real estate, copyrights, leasing, entertainment, intellectual property, forensic accounting, criminal offenses… the list goes on. Now, you have to have a separate lawyer for each one of those categories”. But this difficulty is resolved by Mr.Faisal Ali Shah. With his associate lawyer he has presence in almost all the fields and committed to provide assistance for all legal issues under one roof.
Resolving dispute through bilateral dialog, Mediation and Compromise is the best, fastest and cheapest mode. In the words of Albert Einstein “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” In broader sense to provide peaceful solution for problems without litigation you need a Mediator. This responsibility is being undertaken by Mrs.Uzma Habib Shah, Advocate who is trained Community Mediator, from Hon'ble High Court of Madhya Pradesh. With her commitment for social contributions by rebuilding harmony she lead from the front in case family disputes etc. And while doing mediation she keep in her mind golden words of Buddha “Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment”.
